Q: What is the difference between ‘hot’ wax and strip wax?
A: ‘Hot’ wax is spread thickly onto the skin and allowed to dry slightly before it is gently peeled away. This method is far less painful than most and pulls hair directly from the roots. The benefits include fewer in-grown hairs, less breakage and therefore longer re-growth periods. This wax also promotes skin hydration and is highly recommended for sensitive areas. Warm Strip wax is recommended for thicker/less sensitive skin, for example - legs, arms, back, chest, and shoulders. A thin layer of wax is applied to the skin and is then removed using a paper strip.
Q: Why is hot/warm waxing recognised as a less-painful experience?
A: Before any hot/warm wax is applied an essential oil is applied to the skin which acts as a barrier between the wax and the skin. Therefore, the wax is able to shrink wrap around the hair and will not stick to the skin - Less tugging results in less pain.
Q: What is so unique about your wax?
A: The wax I use has been sourced from industry leaders and is designed to promote skin hydration and care for the skin with various essential-oil based ingredients. The wax also eliminates the “freshly plucked chicken” effect that many other waxes cause.
Q: Are there any conditions that will prevent me from getting waxed?
A: Contagious skin conditions will prevent waxing the affected area until the condition has completely cleared. Clients taking Roaccutane must wait 6 months after finishing their medication before receiving a waxing treatment. It is also not possible to remove hair from skin that is sunburnt, chafed or broken, or from skin that has been treated with steroid creams within the last 3 months.

It is not recommend having your first Brazilian wax immediately before a special occasion or holiday, as the treated area may look and feel a little sore afterwards - better to play it safe and allow a few days for things to settle down before surprising your unsuspecting partner or adoring public.
Q: How should I prepare for my treatment?
A: If possible please arrive freshly showered and gently exfoliate the area for a few days beforehand. This helps to remove any dead skin cells and lifts the hair for better results. Do not shave or trim the area for at least 3 weeks prior to your appointment, as the hair needs to be at least ½ cm long in order to wax successfully. We will do any necessary trimming for you on the day.
Q: Should I trim or shave my hair first?
A: Its best to let us trim any excess or long hair for you, as we will trim the hair to the best length which will ensure that the wax will grip the hair (too short and it will not grip) and that the hair will be just short enough to make the waxing as comfortable as possible for you. If you recently shaved or used hair removal cream on the hair to be waxed then leave it for at least 3 weeks before you book a waxing appointment.
Q: Who will perform the waxing treatment?
A: Your treatment will be carried out by our resident male technician, Ralph Marzo, who has worked and trained alongside UK's top accredited trainers. Ralph's advice is frequently sought by fellow therapists up and down the country.
Q: I'm worried about being naked or becoming aroused?
A: Don't panic! Your therapist is not concerned with the size or shape of your body any more than they are concerned with what car you drive or the colour of your eyes. We aim to make all of our customers feel as comfortable as possible, and understand that you may be feeling nervous. Some clients experience temporary physical arousal in response to the manipulation of certain body areas - this is nothing to worry about and usually subsides fairly rapidly. Customers are advised, however, that inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.
Q: How long should my hair be for waxing?
A: Our hot wax can grab hair as short as 3mm. However with larger parts of the body like arms/legs, we suggest leaving it three weeks before waxing. Clients that have not waxed/shaved for a long period of time need not worry as hair will be trimmed to a suitable length for waxing.
Q: What types of intimate waxing do you offer?
A: All male intimate waxing treatments have a clear description on the website so you can decide which waxing treatment you do require.
Q: What is the difference between male Hollywood and Brazilian waxing?
A: Brazilian is where some of the pubic hair is left and generally trimmed or waxed into shape as the client requires.
Hollywood All hair is removed
Q: What type of wax will you use for male Brazilian waxing?
A: All male intimate waxing procedures are carried using only the non strip waxing method. A hot wax that looks like thick honey will be applied directly to the area and as it sets it will grip the hair and is removed without strips of paper.
  Q: Does it hurt?
A: Our policy is to remove the hair as quickly and painlessly as possible. Every person has different pain thresholds and so experience waxing differently. Most clients agree that the discomfort is nowhere near as bad as they anticipated, and reduces even further with regular appointments as the hairs become thinner, lighter and sparser.

Using specialised hot wax and as a expertly trained/experienced therapist waxing is as pain-free as possible. If you have a particularly low pain threshold a couple of Nurofen tablets half an hour before the treatment time tends to reduce pain.
Q: How long will the waxed area be hair free?
A: This varies from person to person. Unlike shaving or hair removal creams, waxing removes hair by the root - this avoids the discomfort of itchy stubble and your hair will grow back slower, softer and sparser.

Generally most clients will get about two weeks of nice smooth soft skin after their waxing. However clients that have been shaving on a frequent basis or clients that have used hair removal creams often find that it can take a few waxes to get a smooth finish. To maintain your smooth appearance, waxing every 4-6 weeks is recommended. Regular waxing or maintenance waxing is easier as the hair regrowth is much finer and a lot easier to remove.
Q: Is it done with discretion?
A: A towel can be provided to cover parts of the intimate area while waxing. Some treatments involve the client holding the skin in various places to help minimise discomfort but the therapist will lead you in this process.
Q: Will it be uncomfortable afterwards?
A: As we use very high quality waxing products this should leave you with minimal discomfort. When the treatment is finished the therapists will ensure no wax or residue has been left on the skin. Since we use hot/warm wax, skin will not be sticky.
Q: What should I do before and after to maintain my waxing?
A: Please arrive fresh and clean for your appointment. Wipes will be provided to freshen up prior to the male intimate waxing treatments and, if possible, gently exfoliate the area for a few days beforehand. This helps to remove any dead skin cells and lifts the hair for better results.

After care guidelines will be provided at the end of the treatment which we talk through with each of our clients.
Q: What after-care do I need to follow?
A: Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24-48 hours. This means:

• No hot baths or showers (warm water only).
• No saunas, hot tubs or steam treatments.
• No tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans).
• No sport, gym work or other exercise.
• Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands.
• Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools.
• Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the area.

Please note: some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over 24-48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Q: How long will my appointment take?
A: Treatments vary from client to client, as you can appreciate we are all different sizes and it will take much longer to wax someone that is very hairy for the first visit, than it will for a client who has regular waxing carried out. With clients enough time is set aside to deal with the pre waxing consultation, the waxing and to discuss aftercare in more detail. With regular clients we will know how long your treatment takes and will set aside enough time to carry out the treatment. However it is important you arrive at the scheduled appointment time so that there is enough time to carry out your treatment without having to rush.
Q: How do I make an appointment?
A: By telephone, text or email - whichever is the easiest method for you. However please note that our booking policy is that we have a mobile contact number for all confirmed bookings. So when you contact us to book your appointment it will not be confirmed until we have your mobile contact number. So it’s much quicker if you include this within your email. Please read all our booking procedures and cancellation policy which are all included within our Terms and Conditions.
Q: Is there a cancellation charge?
A: No, unlike lots of other salons or therapists we do not charge a cancellation fee if clients have to cancel their appointments. Please read our terms and conditions for more detailed information about our polices.
Q: What happens if I arrive late for my appointment?
A: Please note that you need to observe the times allocated for your appointment. If you arrive late for your appointment and if another client is booked afterwards this may result in having to reschedule your appointment, or offering you a reduced treatment time.
Q: Can I bring a child or pet with me?
A: When coming for your appointment any Children coming must be supervised at all times and be restrained in either a buggy, capsule or be able to sit unassisted. Due to health and safety protocol pets of any type are not permitted (excluding Guide dogs).
